Florida State versus Boston College Recap

Florida State started the game in a way it had not in almost a year. For the first time since November of 2015, the Seminoles scored a touchdown on their opening drive against a Power Five opponent. After an Eagles punt, Florida State drove 80 yards in 9 plays to score. Francois was featured often in that drive completing six of seven passing including the six yard score to Auden Tate.

Boston College was able to get into Seminole territory on their following drive but was stopped short on fourth down. Florida State then drove 71 yards for another touchdown. This time, Francois hooked up with Nyqwan Murray for a four yard score.

The next five possessions ended with punts for both teams. The Seminoles padded their lead to 21 points on a 19 yard Cook touchdown late in the second quarter.

The second half began with both teams punting on their first two possessions. Florida State’s next two drives however would end with touchdowns. First Francois threw his third touchdown to Travis Rudolph for a 20 yard pitch and catch score. Then, after Francois was sidelined due to a shoulder injury, senior Sean Maguire, lead the Seminoles on a scoring drive that ended with Auden Tate’s second touchdown grab.

After yet another Boston College punt, the Seminoles pushed their lead to 38-0 on a 53 field goal by freshman, Logan Tyler.

Florida State then made the score 45-0 when Maguire found fullback Freddie Stevenson for a six yard touchdown. Boston College finally got on the board when its last drive went 75 yards in 9 plays and ended with a one yard touchdown run by Richard Wilson.
